FANTASY BASEBALL Team Review
I am going to finish my review with review of each team and give my 2 cents on why they suck or why they are almost unbeatable.
Z-Unit:
Veteran: 0 yrs
Flagship Player: Alex Rodriguez
Strength: Rounded
This Team is led by a relatively unknown individual to Fantasy Baseball, however has built a solid team. He focuses his team around what Alex Rodriguez is, a punative 4-5 tool player. Hits, Homeruns, Runs, RBI's and Stolen Bases. He has 5 players that can hit over 30 homeruns, 100+ RBI's, steal 20+ bases. His team also comprises Aces Jason Schmidt and Mark Mulder. He also has 2 closers who total 100 saves. His bench is kind of weak but with his starters comprising such potential, the Z-unit looks to easily set his sights on the playoffs.
Team Travis:
Veteran: 4 yrs
Flagship Player: Vladimir Guererro
Strength: Rounded
Travis has compiled a very good team. He leads the way with Vlad but adds E.Chavez, Pudge, Teixeira, A.Jones, Boone and Corey Patterson. His team while not spectacular in power is well rouned with many RBI guys and base stealers. His pitching is quite deep led by Tim Hudson and Roy Oswalt. Although his closers did not save a ton of games last year this year he has 3 stud like closers that play on great teams. Look for him to falter in the playoffs.
Las Vegas Ludacris:Veteran: What are you kidding me?
Flagship player: Albert Pujols
Strength: Hitting
Hugh has managed to assemble a decent team. His squad comprises the likes of near 200 hits players which is an amazing feat. His Pitching while looks steller on paper doesnt strike fear into many opponents. Although he's an easy win look for him to battle for Sixth.
Team BarbinVeteran: 2 Years
Flagship player: Carlos Beltran
Strength: Power
Barbin has a team Loaded with Firepower, Helton, Delgado, Beltran, Dunn, A.Ramierez and Bonds. However don't "missunderestimate" this team. He has a few combination players that can give you a run for your money in base stealing and other categories. His lackuster drafting skills gives him the razzie for the worst Pitching staff in Baseball. A team that is led by Carlos Zambrano isn't much. Although he had a sub-3 era hes only the 3rd best starter on the Cubs. Other than that his pitchers are in the medium area solid 3-4 ERA and good strikeout tallies. Barbin may combat with consistant pitchers rather than 2-3 ALL-STAR pitcher. Beat him in his pitching don't try for hitting.
Pittsburg Perkins
Veteran: 4 Yrs
Flagship Player: Miguel Tejada
Strength: Injured All Stars
Chin has picked up a lot of brands who were injured in the past. Althogh they have all been superstars this is a little risky only have one true consistant player. Tejada is a steal at SS position. Coming over a record year for him with 150 RBI's. Thats 30 more than Pujols. Why the argument could be added that hes only clutch, check out his 200+ Hits. Only Vlad had 200+ hits in the first round. However, Tejada can't lead the team without the support of Griffy, Ordonez, Sexon, Wells, Glaus and Berkman. His pitching is led by Cy Young Winner the Doc. However, recent injuries have plauged his success. The support is followed with Peavy, Pettitte, Webb who are only sub-amazing at best. Although he has Eric Gagne, he remains on the DL and one wonders if he can save 50 games again. Beat this Team early, later on he can get deadly.
______________
Veteran: 2-3 Yrs
Flagship Player: Alfonso Soriano
Strength: Pitching
Hands down seb has approached his New 2005 team as a team of Pitching. How is he going to fair in Hitting, one may ponder. First of all he doesn't have a 3rd basemen. Which substracts a few hits or 1 homerun per week. His batting is well rounded in that he has 2 homerun hitters a few great base stealers and can rack up a lot of hits per week. His pitching stacks up like this: Pedro, Beckett, Wells, Carpenter and Maddux. He has a very deep staff that he can choose to play against you, ie. Maddux vs Ex-Expos or Washburn vs. Devil Rays. Watch out for him to stratagize against you no matter if you have Santana, Johnson or Clemens.
Le Moyne Dolphons
Veteran: 4 yrs
Flagship Player: Johan Santana
Strength: Pitching
If Santana, Prior, Wood, Buehrle, Smotlz, Willis, El Duqe play to their potential, EVERYONE WATCH OUT!
Billy's Deciples
Veteran: 4 yrs
Flagship Player: RJ/Manny Ramierez
Strength: Even
Brendon has built a very solid team but has a lot of injury problems. 5 guys on the DL, especially Kevin Brown and Frank Thomas will hurt his deep hitting and pitching. However, Brendon a master at sleeper picks, has guys who can rise mid season among the best in the MLB. Morris and Vazquez are due for comback seasons. Gary Sheffield and Manny Ramierez leads this offense with a potential great Jason Giambi. However, sleeper picks can come back to bite him in the azz, so we'll have to see how his picks come about.
