Console Wars

Facts: The future history books will prevail Sony's Playstation 2 the champion by sales, popularity and great games. Dreamcast will be the all forgotten loser and Nintendo's Gamecube will take the official last place finisher.

Opinion:

This generation of consoles in America started with the Dreamcast and ended with the Dreamcast. The real generation premiered Ps2, Xbox and Gamecube.

Sony's Ps2

This system will go down in history as being the best selling home console to date, and the greatest library of games. The playstation 2 will not go down in history as having the worst graphics of the remaing 3 consoles. It will not go down in history as having the worst technology. It will not go down in history as having the greatest loading times. It will go down as the console that pwned.

Xbox

This first corporation system has clearly made its mark this generation. No other company since Sony has found a working console on its first try. The Xbox was a coin flip in terms of the possibility of being a hit or a miss system. It has the most robust architecture, the most advanced graphics, the greatest multimedia capabilities, the online play, but came with the biggest price point. At first the 299.99 price for an xbox seemed too much. however, after relentless price cuts to now 149.99 USD, it's comparable price to the ps2 stimulated mass purchases. The number one console from 2004-2005 was the Xbox, hands down!!! However, from what history is concerned with is that the Microsoft still lost millions with the Xbox. Nintendo and Ps2 both had greater profit.

Game Cube

What a shame to what could of been an amazing console. On par graphically with the Xbox and the cheapest of the bunch. Nintendo had the brand names, the great image and they destroyed all this in one year on the market. Months from its release the gamecube was slated to be the official Ps2 killer. In fact the Xbox was still in question of being a hit. Nintendo had big shoes to fill. However, it came up short. Nintendo since 2001 has said we're doing this, we're not doing this, we are committed only to making games, we don't like online play... etc. All this commotion summed nintendo into this key phrase, "Gamecube, that's a kiddie machine." Going down in history the Gamecube seemed just like a system nintendo made to keep the next generation happy. And it failed to accomplish this.

DS vs PSP

To all those gamers who think the PSP is the superior system, let me remind you of the words of will smith "How you measure a rapper what make an MC great Is it the sales? 20 mill Is it the cars? Bentley's Is it the women? Jada Is it the money? Please "

The facts are that while the DS came out before the PSP, the DS still continues to beat sales of the PSP week after week. To those who say well the DS has more games so more people will buy it. FALSE, the PSP has 39 games out and the DS has 37. The fact that the PSP has the better graphics the better screen, the better controls the better games the better looks means nothing. The DS will go down in history as selling better and the clear champion of this war. Sony will learn its lesson next time, but this round goes to the DS.

P.S. Gameboy Advance's successor will be coming out soon, the DS can't hold a candle to what this mysterious handheld is going to be.
